Membership and Professionalism

Founding Club Members.  The first 100 Swimming Clubs who joined the National Club Swimming Association have the distinction of being forever known as "Founding Club Members" in the NCSA.

Founding Coaching Members.  The first 200 Swimming Coaches who joined the National Club Swimming Association have the distinction of being forever known as "Founding Coaching Members" in the NCSA.

Club Members.  Club Members must have a minimum of 50 swimmers, 18 years old and under.  Clubs must be independent of direct program controls of a college/university.   Club Members must be coached by a Coaching Member of the National Club Swimming Association.  Such status will be determined by the Membership Committee of the NCSA.
 
Coaching Members. Coaching Members must have at least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university and coach a club team that is a member of the NCSA.  They must also have a minimum of three years of experience in the coaching of swimming or the equivalent of 15 semester hours of formal university course work directly related to the profession of coaching swimming.  Swim coaches may petition to have these educational accomplishments and requirements waived by submitting a list of twelve first time USA Senior National Championship qualifiers, where they were the primary developing coach and coach of record.  Such achievement will be approved by the Membership Committee of the NCSA.

Athlete Membership.  Athletes are members of the NCSA when they are placed on the Club's Membership Roster and pays registration fees in the USA Swimming OME system when doing Junior Nationals entries. 

The NCSA and its member clubs and coaches will strive to the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in the sports of swimming.
